How Can I Know God Loves Me?
"So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him." (1 John 4:16)
Walk-Line: John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
And yes, instead of the word "world", you can put your name there. But the question I have for us today: How can we really know in our daily walk, that God really loves us? How can we experience that love on a daily basis, through our life experiences?
I believe the key word in our text is the word "abide". I believe that abiding in love, is in our focus on loving others. In the constant excercise of loving others, we see clearly, and strongly the love God has for us. You can call it a reflective experience if you want to. The love we show to others, reflects back to the love God has shown, and continues to show us. To love others, and to be loved in return, allows us to see the true nature of God's love for us. But I truly see God's love in His constant presence, provisions, and providence in my life. As I look in the rear-view mirror of my life, I see the love of God displayed, no matter where I am, or what I am going through! Can you see it too? GP
Not just in what He has done for eternity.
In loving others I see God's love for me,
I see the nature of His love, so rich and free.
