Christmas Is Not An Amusement, But An Announcement!
"Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord." (Luke 2:11)
Walk-line: Every Christmas holiday we battle against the secular ideas that threaten the real significance of the Christmas holiday. Of course there is the annual battle of commercialism, and the focus of the materialistic side of Christmas. The focus on the amusements connected with the Christmas holiday dominates our thinking and activity. Also the violation of the word, "Christmas" to some that would rather see the word "Holidays" used. This would be an offense to those of different beliefs and practices.
As Christians, we are to step aside to the secular side of Christmas. Instead of the amusements, and the offenses, Christmas may bring, we are to embrace the announcement of the angel to the shepherd's, and to all man-kind. For us who have given our lives to our Savior, Jesus Christ, this announcement is a monumental pillar to our Christian faith and walk. As the apostle Paul said (because Jesus saved him, and gave him a purpose for his life) "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." For us as Christians, our message to the world, is this announcement in Luke 2:11. It is larger than any Christmas amusement. It is a message of hope to the world. GP
Just an amusement in all that you do?
But what about the announcement of a Savior, promised to you?
Will you embrace the good news of heaven,
And focus on this, your whole life through?
