Why Can't I Believe?

Why Can't I Believe?

"Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” (Matthew 14:31)

Walk-Line: I think of Peter, when I think of the times I questioned the Lord's workings in my life. How many times did I wonder if the Lord Jesus was going to come through for me and my family. When the disciples saw, that this one who was walking on the water, was not a ghost, but the Lord Jesus Himself. Jesus says to them: "Be of good cheer, It is I; don't be afraid!" I am sure they were very glad to see Him, and Peter requested that He come to Jesus on the water. And Jesus told him to come to him. Peter did well, walking on the water, as long as he kept his eyes on Jesus. But when he took his eyes off the Lord, and saw the elements of the storm, he became afraid, and down in the water he went.

In our text, it tells us of Jesus response: "You of little faith," He said, "Why did you doubt?" I always put myself in Peter's shoes, just as if the Lord Jesus is talking to me. "Why am I of little faith?" "Why do I doubt?" When all the time the Lord Jesus has been faithful to me. He has showed up every time.

The reasons we cannot believe, are many, but these three stand out. That of indifference, impatience, and insecurity. But the reasons we can believe in the Lord, for this life, and for eternity, is one big reason, and that is, that the Lord Jesus is FAITHFUL!.

"Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments." (Deuteronomy 7:9)

Why is it hard to believe in the Lord?
To be of little faith, and always in doubt?
The Bible says that The Lord is always faithful.
In our lives, and in our storms,
 He is always about!
