God's Stress Test

God's Stress Test

"A stress test, also known as an exercise stress test, is a medical procedure used to assess the heart's function under stress. It involves monitoring the heart's electrical activity and other vital signs while you exercise, usually by walking on a treadmill or riding a stationary bike." (Google)

"Stress takes our eyes off God. When we are stressed, it is usually because we feel we have to do everything on our own. When we try to take control of our lives, we fall apart. We are not capable of running our lives well devoid of God; rather, we need His power, His love, and His will in order to live peacefully. (January 19, 2018 by Allison Richmond in Spiritual Life )

The Bible has some Scriptures that help us to deal with the stress in our lives

Philippians 4:6-7 – "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Psalm 55:22 – "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken."

Matthew 11:28 – "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

Isaiah 41:10 – "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

1 Peter 5:7 – "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

These verses remind us that God is always present, offering peace and strength in difficult times.

What is the reason for God's stress test in our lives?
Is it not to have us trust completely in His care?
Sometimes the test is very overwhelming and severe.
But we can count on God's wisdom, strength, and love...
to always be there!
