here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for this is the duty of all mankind.
For God will bring every deed into judgment,
including every hidden thing,
whether it is good or evil."
(Ecclesiastes 12:13-14)
Walk-Line: Solomon was a man who you could say, knew it all, had it all, and did it all. From what we read in the Old Testament, Solomon had received great wisdom, wealth, and the opportunity to indulge in every worldly pursuit, and pleasure. And in the midst of it all, Solomon was not satisfied. Which brings the question: Can we ever be truly satisfied with the worldly pursuits, possessions, and pleasures of our day? After a lengthy discourse about the "vanity" of that which man pursues, and possesses, Solomon presents the conclusion of it all, and truly the solution, to the disappointment, and dissatisfaction in our life's journey. There are two things we must do, which is the "duty of all man-kind." They are:
1. Fear God. Have a deep respect for His Person, His authority and power, and His love.
2. Keep His Commandments. We are to be obedient to God's Word, and will for our lives.
In so doing, we will find that peace, contentment, and satisfaction, that we as a people of this time, long for, so much!
The preacher boldly proclaims.
But what is found in our Creator,
