The Lowliness Of Loneliness

The Lowliness Of Loneliness

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10)

Walk-Line: John Lennon wrote a song about lonely people. The chorus:

"All the lonely people,

Where do they all come from?

All the lonely people,

Where do they all belong?"

Are you lonely today? Do you miss someone, or some people in your life?

You can be in crowded room full of people and still have that miserable feeling of loneliness.

I appreciate so much the first words of our text: "Fear not, for I am with You..." Even though I miss having certain people in my life, I am so glad that the Lord is always with me. That I am held by His righteous right hand. If I draw near to Him, and allow Him to embrace my whole being; I will be solid, even in the despairing state of loneliness.

What a lowly feeling of loneliness
That brings a heart deep and low.
But the presence of the Lord is refreshing.
Assuring us, we are never alone.
