Passion

PASSION

"Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end." (John 13:1)

Walk-Line: We are now journeying with Jesus through the "Passion Week." The Passion (from Latin patior, "to suffer, bear, endure") In our text, it says that Jesus loved His own who were in the world. He was willing to "suffer, and "bear the sins of world"(mine included) and "endure the suffering of the cross for our sake. A willingness to show a passion such as this stems from a deep love, that is beyond our comprehension. A love that we are commanded to show to one another. (John 13:34)

Out of the Ivory Palaces
Into a world of woe,
Only his great eternal love
Made my Savior go.
