A Persevering Peace

A Persevering Peace

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." — John 14:27

Walk-Line:

In our world of trouble and turmoil, peace is a hard concept for our world to grasp. And we do not have to look very far, with all the drama, bitterness. and resentment that exists in families today.

Life’s trials often feel like storms—unpredictable, overwhelming, and beyond our control. Yet Jesus offers a peace that is not dependent on circumstances. His peace is steady, unshaken, and eternal. Unlike the fleeting comfort the world provides, Christ’s peace anchors us when everything else seems uncertain.

Paul reminds us in Philippians 4:6–7 that when we bring our anxieties to God in prayer, His peace—beyond human understanding—guards our hearts and minds. This means peace is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of Christ in the midst of it. Trials may roar, but His Spirit whispers calm assurance.

So let's do these things: Pray honestly, fix our mind on the truth, meditate on Scriptures that remind us of God's sovereignty and love, practice gratitude, and rest in Christ's victory. Practicing these things will help us to find peace. Not just temporal, but eternal. GP

What is the world longing for,
more than the treasures it can hold?
Is it not a peace that passes all understanding,
that only in Christ we can Behold?
